Our Area
Hartbeespoort Emergency Medical Service runs road operations, for both medical and trauma emergencies, on a 24 hour-7 days a week basis. The ambulances respond to emergencies in the whole Madibeng area, which is an area of approximately 100 square kilometres.
Your Call, Our Priority
Emergency calls are received through the computerised dispatch centre, which ensures that caller deal with professionals who are able to prioritise the calls to ensure that life threatening emergencies are dealt with urgently. HEMS deliver services to patients of all medical aids as well as non-medical aid patients.
We understand that each patient has particular medical needs. Hence, we make certain that our patients get the highest level of personalised care. Patients are taken to the closets appropriate hospitals which includes where necessary top facilities in Pretoria or Johannesburg. When necessary the help of Emergency Medical helicopters are called to ensure the fastest and best help for a patient.
All our ambulance crews are fully qualified, rigorously trained and are HPCSA registered for Intermediate Life Support (ILS), as well as Basic Life Support (BLS). In addition, these crews are flanked by
Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedics. The ALS paramedics possess the necessary skills, equipment and qualification, to treat patients who are in extremely critical condition or circumstances. HEMS prides itself on being the only EMS in Madibeng that has permanently employed ALS paramedics on call.
Our Fleet
Our fleet of high powered response vehicles ensure that ALS paramedics are able to reach critical situations in the shortest possible time. Our ambulances are equipped in such a way that critical patients can be treated adequately until they reach the hospital. Due to HEMS’ advanced resources the company is equipped for Medical ICU inter-hospital transfers with all the necessary equipment. This includes Neonatal ICU transfers.
