1. Check Safety​

• Assess the scene carefully, look for any hazards

​

2. Check for Responsiveness

• Tap the patient and call out loudly

 

3. Check for pulse and breathing

• Feel for a pulse. Place your index and middle fingers on the persons neck in the soft hollow area just beside their windpipe.

• Look at the chest for movement and listen for sounds of breathing.

• If there is no breathing or pulse, then start chest compressions.

4. Call HEMS 082 695 1240

• Start Chest compressions keep on doing chest compressions until help arrives
